RCR Showcases Breakthrough Sealed Pan Feeder at MINExpo 2024

RCR Mining Technologies proudly wrapped up a successful appearance at MINExpo 2024, held from 24–26 September in Las Vegas. As one of the world’s premier mining industry events, MINExpo brought together global leaders, innovators, and decision‑makers to explore the technologies shaping the future of mining. RCR drew strong interest with the debut of its latest innovation — the Sealed Pan Feeder.

Throughout the three‑day event, visitors from across the mining sector engaged with RCR’s engineering and product specialists to learn how the Sealed Pan Feeder is redefining in‑pit crushing and conveying performance. The new design generated significant attention for its ability to deliver the robustness of a traditional apron feeder while introducing a range of operational and environmental advantages.

Introducing the Sealed Pan Feeder: Key Features

The Sealed Pan Feeder is a major step forward in feeder technology, offering a suite of benefits that resonated strongly with operators, maintenance teams, and project leaders.

  • Reduced Maintenance: With outboard chains, carry rollers, return rollers, sprockets, and idlers positioned outside of the material zone, the Sealed Pan Feeder experiences less wear and tear. This design also allows for greater accessibility to components, making maintenance tasks quicker and easier.
  • Improved Spillage Control: The sealed running surface and integrated overlapping pan wings enhance spillage control, keeping operations cleaner and more efficient.
  • Enhanced Carry-Back Control: The scrapable running surface significantly improves carry-back control, ensuring a smoother operation.
  • Robustness Comparable to an Apron Feeder: Sharing over 90% of its components and materials with the traditional Apron Feeder, the Sealed Pan Feeder boasts superior robustness.
  • No Dribble Management Required: The sealed running surface eliminates the need for a Dribble Conveyor and the associated infrastructure, reducing the ongoing maintenance and operating costs.
  • No Compromise of a Belt Cover: The durable cast manganese steel surface means no compromise of a belt cover as seen on other feeder technologies.
  • Reverse Capability: Optional capability to run in both forward and reverse direction operationally, due to the symmetric nature of pan and seal configuration.
  • Reduced Environmental Impact: Improved maintenance intervals and the elimination of the Dribble Conveyor inherently reduce environmental impact.

Looking Ahead

RCR Mining Technologies extends its thanks to everyone who visited the booth and contributed to a highly successful event. The strong interest in the Sealed Pan Feeder reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and future‑focused solutions for the global mining industry.
