Sealed Pan Feeders
The next generation in apron feeder technology
RCR Mining Technologies is proud to introduce the Sealed Pan Feeder – a world-first, industry-leading product redefining the future of apron feeder technology.
Featuring superior impact and abrasion resistance, sealed apron technology, a low profile and no Dribble Conveyor requirement, the Sealed Pan Feeder combines the robustness of an Apron Feeder with the sealing capabilities of a Belt Feeder.
The Sealed Pan Feeder is designed by RCR Mining Technologies’ innovative engineering team and manufactured in Western Australia.
Superior materials handling
We first introduced Sealed Pan Feeder technology to our Tier-1 clients in iron ore, but the applications are as wide-ranging as those for traditional Apron Feeders.
RCR Sealed Pan Feeders are custom-designed for each application, using collaborative client engagement to develop a tailored solution for individual projects.
Case study - Fortescue
Check out this case study video to see how the Sealed Pan Feeder has transformed operations at Fortescue.
“For Fortescue, every tonne that gets produced goes through the crushing plant to earn us revenue. Having the Sealed Pan Feeders means we have a lot more uptime, which means we can keep running tonnes through the plant and produce more revenue as opposed to stopping and maintain the plant more regularly.”
Project Director, Fortescue
Sealed Pan Feeder Benefits
- Reduced maintenance
Outboard chain, carry rollers, return rollers, sprockets and idlers are positioned outside of the material zone, reducing wear and tear, and providing greater accessibility to components. - Improved spillage control
The sealed running surface and integrated overlapping pan wings provide improved spillage control. - Improved carry-back control
The scrapable running surface provides improved carry-back control. - Robustness comparable to an apron feeder
Sharing over 90% of common components and materials with the Apron Feeder, the Sealed Pan Feeder offers superior robustness. - No dribble management required
The sealed running surface eliminates the need for a Dribble Conveyor and the associated infrastructure, reducing the ongoing maintenance and operating costs. - No compromise of a belt cover
The durable cast manganese steel surface means no compromise of a belt cover as seen on other feeder technologies. - Reverse capability
Optional capability to run in both forward and reverse direction operationally, due to the symmetric nature of pan and seal configuration. - Reduced environmental impact
Improved maintenance intervals and the elimination of the Dribble Conveyor inherently reduce environmental impact.
Applications
With a robust and adaptable design, the Sealed Pan Feeder integrates seamlessly with a wide range of applications including:
- ROM
- Primary Crushed
- Secondary Crushed
- Tertiary Crushed
- Side Tip Truck Unloader
- Dozer Trap Feed
- Front End Loader Feed
- Surge Bin Reclaim
- Coarse Ore Stockpile Reclaim
- Train Unloader
- Reversing Applications
